He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress.
This is one of the Bible's best-known passages about divine protection.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in.
These verses are often used in prayers over travel and daily life.
Versículo 3
Proverbs 18:10
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
God Himself is presented as the secure place of refuge.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.
This verse is often used in prayer for spiritual confidence and defense.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Protection is linked here with God's nearness in trouble.
Versículo 6
2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
God's faithfulness is central to His keeping care.
Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble.
This verse gives relational, sheltering language for prayer.
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
God's protection is never detached from His goodness.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
God’s care can surround the believer like a camp.
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Many images show how God shields His people.
Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
Prayer for defense is biblical and honest.
Versículo 12
2 Samuel 22:31
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
God’s word and His shield go together for those who trust Him.
But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
God lifts the head when trouble presses down.
